Role Overview

We are seeking an inexperienced Software Developer the opportunity to join our team, learn quickly and help us to evolve our cloud‑based web application to the next generation! This role is ideal for a recent Computer Science or Software Engineering graduate looking for hands‑on experience in C#, SQL, Azure, and full‑stack web application development.

You will work directly with a mentoring developer and receive structured onboarding support as you learn the existing codebase. This position includes meaningful ownership and the opportunity to influence architectural decisions as you grow—and is an ideal opportunity to gain real‑world experience!

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features within our Azure‑hosted C# web application
• Identify leading‑edge technologies to evolve our services
• Work with REST APIs, SQL data models, and cloud‑native services
• Debug, test, and refactor existing code
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback
• Assist in improving system performance, reliability, and security
• Contribute to documentation, deployment processes, and product planning
• Collaborate directly with the founder and future engineering teammates

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong foundational knowledge of C#.Net, object‑oriented programming, and MS SQL
• Familiarity with web development concepts (HTTP, APIs, MVC, or similar patterns)
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred but not required)
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work during standard Eastern Time business hours
• Excellent communication and willingness to learn in a small team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic or project experience with:
  • Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, or No‑SQL Databases
  • Java, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, or a modern frontend framework
  • Git/GitHub, CI/CD concepts
• Internship or project experience building real applications
• Passion for mission‑driven software and interest in affordable housing or civic tech spaces
